Paul Shields Solo Exhibition
Reception: Thursday, March 13 2014, 7:30-10:00p.m.
Show Gallery, 978 Queen West (Queen/Ossington)
Paul is experiencing continued success with his artwork. He is grateful that Out of the Cold has been an opportunity for exposure as an artist. He has recently spoken about art and his work in a café. He has had his work on display in Nathan Phillips Square through The Brain Injury Society of Toronto. This March 13-26 will be a chance to view and purchase his work at The Show Gallery.
After suffering a stroke, Paul began to focus on artwork to work through his feelings and to heal. He feels flattered to see people enjoying and respecting his creations. He views art as therapeutic and has used it as a tool to work through anxiety. Making art, he believes, uses the non-analytic side of the brain and allows those overworked parts of us to relax.
